At the Akron Fossils & Science Center, we believe the best way to learn science is to experience it! With 3 themes to choose from, our hands-on, interactive learning can come right to you! For only $10 per participant, our team will provide a learning experience that your students will never forget!
FANTASTIC FOSSILS
Engage your students in the science of the past, as you move through our 3 part program which includes learning about fossils, the replication process, and the explosive world of volcanoes!
Students will touch real fossils, make their own fossil replica to take home and learn about the different types of volcanoes while erupting a model volcano!
CREATURE FEATURE
Enrich your students with the amazing world of zoology, as you move through our 3 part program which includes learning about the habitats, diets, and care of some of our animals!
Students will touch real animals, feed real animals, and learn about the special care that is needed for these amazing creatures!
WACKY SCIENCE
Discover the excitement of chemistry and physics, as you move through our 3 part program which includes understanding physical changes, chemical reactions, and electricity!
Students will perform an experiment, create goo, and learn about the world of electricity!

Museum in a Backpack
Our Museum in a Backpack presentation brings all the educational fun of Akron Fossils & Science Center directly to you! Learn about fossils, fossilization, geology, and other earth science topics with real fossils, replicas, and artifacts that you can hold and touch. This presentation will give your participants a learning experience they will thoroughly enjoy!
Our presentation is approximately one hour long. The cost is $175 plus round trip mileage (contact us for current mileage rates). Because our presentation is very interactive, we ask that you limit the amount of participants to 25. If you have a large group, we will be happy to do more than one presentation in a row to meet your need. If multiple presentations are selected, we offer a discounted price of $125 for the second presentation and $100 for each additional presentation, up to 6 in a day.
Wild and Wacky Science
Our Wild and Wacky Science presentation teaches participants about the Scientific Method through wacky-fun science demonstrations. Participants will have the opportunity to develop hypotheses, see their ideas tested, and learn how scientist keep track of it all. With a wide range of visuals, participants of all ages will have a blast learning how to apply the Scientific Method to experimenting during our Wild and Wacky Science fun!

Learn about different types of creatures and their distinct features while viewing three special visitors.
