What is Simply S.T.E.A.M.?

Simply S.T.E.A.M. is a science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics based educational program that meets once a week from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. for 28 weeks divided among two semesters. It is a program for home educated students who are in 4-12th who would like to participate in hands-on learning in a classroom setting.

Simply S.T.E.A.M. is geared toward accelerated learners who are ready for a challenge!

Like all Simply courses, S.T.E.A.M. is a 28-week commitment and refunds are not available for unfinished class weeks. Payment for the entire 28-week program is still required if a participant does not finish the course.

What are the costs involved?

Costs vary depending on the grade level of the participants. We do have a payment plan available. See the current brochure for details concerning the upcoming offerings and the connected costs.

How is the program set up?

The program is divided into two main grade categories. The Middle Level is for participants in 4-7th grades. The Upper Level is for participants in the 7-12th grades. The Middle Level meets on Thursdays and the Upper Level meets on Wednesdays.

Homework is required in S.T.E.A.M. classes.

To keep up with the course material covered in class, S.T.E.A.M. participants are expected to complete their homework assignments. This may consist of reading, completing chapter/unit review questions, light research, and occasional presentations/projects. S.T.E.A.M. participants are expected to actively participate in in-class notetaking, discussion, and ongoing projects and labs.

Projected 2026-2027 School Calendar:

August 27th : Back-To-School Open House

September 14th - 17th : First week of classes

November 23rd - 26th : Fall Break; No Classes.

December 18th - January 3rd : Winter Break; No Classes

March 29th - April 1st : Spring Break; No Classes

April 19th - 22nd : Last week of classes unless an inclement weather day occurs during the school year

Additional Details:

  • S.T.E.A.M. classes are geared toward accelerated learners who are up for a challenge and interested in the course material offered.

  • Classes are a 28-week commitment. They run through the first and second semesters of the school year.

  • Refunds are not available for unfinished classes or registration fees. Payment for the entire 28-week program is still required if a dropout occurs.

  • An initial deposit is required to register. This deposit will range from $50 to $150, depending of the course(s) you have registered for. The deposit is non-refundable.

  • A payment plan is available.  Monthly payments can be made to pay the remainder of your balance once the deposit is paid. All Simply balances are due in full by April 15th of the corresponding school year.

  • A 10% off multi-day or sibling discount is available for each child after the first full-price registration. 

  • If you refer a friend and they register, you will receive $10 off your child's registration!

  • A minimum of 10 participants is suggested for each class. If the minimum is not met, the class may be cancelled at the discretion of the instructor. A registration fee refund WILL be administered if AFSC cancels a class.
